Cuore di roccia

Art is leaving material to express itself freely. Thus Cuore di Roccia was created, a tribute to the unfinished works by Michelangelo, which brings the grandeur of a block of stone, a single piece into your own bathroom. A component of the furnishings which has a history over 10,000 years old.

Cuore di Roccia: the emotion of a marble bathroom sink

The idea of creating a marble bathroom sink for a luxury bathroom came from art history books, admiring the works of Michelangelo and the contrast between the smooth and rough surfaces. From a four-ton block of marble, a washbasin of around 250kg is created, from one solid piece, transportable and mountable, made even more special by a complex system of magnets which allows it to be opened for maintenance purposes. The contrast, between the smooth horizontal surface and the rough vertical one echoes the effect of the running water, which over the years, smooths, follows and keeps track of the time that passes and transforms into memory. In this way the dimension of something extraordinary comes into your home, welcomed into the living space and transformed into a perfectly functional marble vanity unit.
